GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is an all India level entrance test for the admission in M Tech (Master of Technology) and ME (Master of Engineering). Those students who are graduated and completed their B Tech (Bachelor of Technology) or BE (Bachelor of Engineering). Those students who have passed these above mentioned courses are eligible to take the entrance exam otherwise the aspirant needs to be a M Sc (Master of Science) pass out. The aspirants who are looking forward to take GATE exam have some myths in their mind like:
Myth: This is very tough exam because it is all India level exam
Reality: The difficulty or toughness of exam depends on you means on your preparation, if you prepared well then you will face no problem or difficulty in most of the questions, so you need to clear the concepts.
Myth: To score high try to attempt most of the questions
Reality: This notion is totally wrong, as we all know that mostly all the entrance exams have negative marking associated with them, so attempt only those questions first, for which you are fully confident and know that these questions are going to be done correctly by you, thereafter proceed towards those questions where you can solve them, don’t ever try to attempt those questions which you think could be wrong.
Myth: Study all the topics and subjects of graduation
Reality: Yes the syllabus of exam is going to be from your graduation but not all the subjects and topics, there are some prescribed topics which are covered in GATE exam, so refer to them and thereafter start preparing for exam to get better results, don’t waste your time by studying extra topics.
Myth: Solve as many papers as you can
Reality: Solve many papers, it’s good but try to focus on your time also and don’t try to solve excessive number of papers, because every one knows that excess of anything is bad, so try to solve many papers until unless you are not feeling bad or bored.
Myth: Do a lot of hard work to succeed
Reality: Yes hard work is required but a lot of hard work is not required, for any kind of success hard work is essential, without it success can’t be yours, so do hard work and also use your time cleverly, manage your time in such a manner so that you can attempt all those questions that you can solve correctly.
Myth: Don’t play or chill out
Reality: Every parent or guardian says “don’t play or chill out”, but if you play a little bit then it doesn’t harm you in fact it will energize you to study more and with more concentration, so don’t hesitate to play, play but for a limited time so that your body can work properly.
Myth: Study the whole day and night before exam to succeed
Reality: Don’t study the whole day and night, you have to devote some time towards your body also, because if you stays healthy then you can take the exam confidentially, so for this you have to manage your time in a proper manner and before the exam day don’t need to study any new topic, just revise those topics that you have studied already and avoid studying till late night if the very next day is of your exam.
So these are the myths that exists in the mind of almost every aspirant who is aspiring towards GATE exam, so stay cool and keep calm yourself and study without any tension.
